When I started traveling in my early 20s I was often solo, heading to Mexico, South American and West Africa for work and research. I always had a contact point which helped me get my footing. Small groups give you flexibility and time to do your own thing while having expert guidance and other like-minded travelers. LET The Adventure Begin

Fast forward a few years when I founded OtehliaTravels, LLC. Through my travel company, I offer travelers stress-free, engaging and thoughtfully-designed small group trips. My focus has evolved to focus on truly intrepid experiences in Mexico, Cuba and Latin America for men and women. I have even branched out to offer some trips just for women. Of course with my love for food and culture there is always a focus on authentic cultural experiences, supporting locally owned businesses and delicious food!

Here are some multi-day group trips I am currently offering and their highlights: Which one is right for you?

MEXICO:

I have fallen in love with Mexico. From the cultural richness to the incredible food and the warmth of the people, I want to explore more. Currently I offer group trips to:

Yucatán – This magical part of Mexico is easy to access via Cancun and is home to beautiful beaches, magical cenotes, rich history and delicious food. We spend time on Isla Mujeres and inland in Valladolid learning about Mayan history, exploring tequila and mezcal and enjoying the turquoise blue waters of the Caribbean.

Oaxaca – Oaxaca City is nestled in between stunning mountains, and has a lively, artistic vibe. Here we focus on women-owned businesses and industries. From modern speakeasies and a temazcal to traditional Zapotec villages we dig in to the beauty and culture of Oaxaca, and of course the food through a temazcal experience, cooking classes, and markets.

CUBA:

Havana and Viñales

This trip is perfect for anyone who has dreamed of visiting Cuba, but doesn’t know how. We split time between Havana and Viñales, learning about Cuban cultural traditions and enjoying delicious food. We explore tobacco farms, ride in classic cars, learn to dance and just enjoy the vibrant life. This trip is perfect for the adventurous traveler as sometimes the electricity goes out!

BELIZE:

Cayo and Ambergris Caye

Belize is the ultimate nature lover’s getaway. The mountains and ocean offer some of the best nature experiences I have ever had – from the pristine jungle to incredible reefs, we will enjoy this beautiful country and the friendly people. Of course we will find the best food and Belize is so diverse – we will taste everything from Mayan foods to Garifuna dishes, and even learn to make some delicious bites.
